Dragging me through the dirties of trails
Revealing the footprints of my enemies
Teasing me with the worlds luxuries
Forcing all my unnecessary wants out of me
My tongue frequently visited my camel skin lips,
making every drop of water valuable.
Only this teacher could take trusts mask off,
exposing all of its hidden deception.
Sitting the dark, facing nights chilling presence,
only to find a natural warmth through laughter.
A teacher that didn't have to exist
Yet I only became the man I am because it did
But if this teacher should persist
I pray it exposes the truth this country hid
So the kids know it ain't cause of Santa that they don't have gifts
It's because we've been robbed for years, forced into a can and closed off by its lid
